A Letter From our President, Rrivre Davies:

As I watch the talent and creativity, innovation and insight of all of our local chapters and their boards, I am inspired by what I see and experience.  Beyond the wonderful participation of the event sponsors and speakers, I am inspired by the innovative and positive directions that the local chapters are pushing their community, and the International Board.

While visiting the chapters I have had the pleasure of sitting down with the local board members and working out some creative new ways to support our members and create an even stronger community. This pool of talent grows and grows as we add more Chapters.  We are super excited to welcome New Orleans to the WIPA family, and soon we will be welcoming Chicago!  We can officially say from sea to shining sea, and from the Gulf to the Great Lakes WIPA is a resource for this magical Industry.  In just 8 short years you all have helped create the first non profit wedding association in the United States, and have helped grow it to encompass the entire country. 
 
But it goes beyond that.  We have professionals asking for our assistance to open chapters in several European Countries and in Latin America and the Caribbean.  
 
This is truly an exciting time for WIPA and an amazing time to be in this magical profession of bringing dreams to life.  If you haven't considered it before, I would encourage you to consider the exciting opportunities of sitting on your local or International WIPA board.  It is an amazing way to contribute, give back, and grow your professional knowledge and network.  It was something I had never considered but was nudged into, and it has been an amazingly rewarding experience.

On June 14, more than 400 Los Angeles VIP event professionals, celebrity planners and event industry insiders, celebrated the launch of PartySlate LA with a show-stopping launch party at industrial chic venue “At The P.”

The creative team was comprised primarily of WIPA members, who wowed the crowd with their innovative designs, food and entertainment. 

PartySlate is a new website for people planning large-scale events, from corporate parties to weddings to milestone birthdays. After a successful launch in Chicago, PartySlate is now focused on helping leading LA venues, planners, decor and floral companies, caterers, and photographers share their portfolio to build their business.

Lunch On The Lawn

Kicking off our summer with an event full of color and fun! Guests were greeted at the Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa complete with luxurious gift bags highlighting all the relaxation the spa has to offer. We all joined around the pool which was decorated with fun green hedge furniture, brightly patterned high boys, with complementing floral. Sangria and an upbeat duo had the group ready to get the event started. After our mixing and mingling, we moved into a multicolored decorated ballroom where Brian Leahy proceeded to expand our knowledge on how to build a professional network with clever ideas, tips, and tricks.

After learning about how the WIPA Las Vegas Chapter will be partnering with Noah's Animal House during all our upcoming events, we headed to the lawn for lunch. A cool breeze helped on our first day of the summer. Lawn games, a Volkswagon photobooth bus, and live tunes were savored in the sun while sipping on our Prosecco Popsicles. Cristina González, Simply Weddings' Lead Cordinator and Managing Partner was aknowledged as one of the 25 Young Event Pros to Watch 2017 by Special Events.

Arizona’s Finest Wedding Sites and Services magazine under their new publisher, Diane Ursprunger, recently debuted a brand new fresh look for the publication with the release of their June cover. The team is excited to share the new design features, including a newly designed modern logo and revised graphics throughout the magazine.

Alan Katz of Great Officiants will be the Featured Wedding Officiants on the New TLC Series “Spouse House” The series starts on July 9th at 10pm on TLC and goes 8 episodes. They put a group of marriage minded singles in a house and see what happens, It should be a fun series! Alan was also recently the Officiant season finale of 90 Day Fiancé on TLC. 

Balloonzilla is now a Certified Balloon Artist(CBA) company. They have also been nominated for the Women in Business, Family Owned Business and Business of the year in Greater Irvine Chamber awards. Balloonzilla also gave a fast pitch in the Asian Business Association Orange Counties(ABAOC) Small Business Developed day and was featured in The Knot SoCal Mixer Event in June 24, in San Diego. This month Balloonzilla celebrates their one year anniversary in their new shop and the company continues to grow. Barnsley Resort in Georgia was recently featured on Southern Bride for its fun, new "Burying the Bourbon” offering for couples getting married at the resort. Additionally, the resort’s Inn and Georgian Hall expansion is on track to open in early 2018, offering 55 additional rooms and more than 9,000 square feet of indoor space, respectively.

LUXE Linen is continuing to receive coverage from their LUXE Launch 2017 at Vibiana with print features in the latest issue of Trendy Bride Magazine. Various weddings and styled shoots have been featured in Ceremony MagazineStyle Me Pretty and Wedding Chicks.

PartySlate hosted their LA launch party earlier this month for over 400 to event professionals at new venue "At The P". Many of WIPA’s talented board members where event partners for this incredible event, including Pauline Parry (Good Gracious! Events), Rrivre Davies (Rrivre Works), and Rich Martinez/Scott Cummings (Luxury Entertainment).  Shawna Yamamoto Event Design and Scarlet Bartending also collaborated to make this an evening that LA's top event professionals are still buzzing about.

Vibiana hosted the  Good Food Gala for The Los Angeles Food Policy Council  this June. This biannual fundraiser supports the LAFPC mission of improving public school food options, promoting urban farms, and fighting ‘food desert’ conditions and food insecurity facing many low-income Angelenos On June 25 Vibiana also hosted the BET Awards Afterparty. The BET Awards ceremony celebrated achievements in entertainment and honors music, sports, television, and movies. Vibiana was recently featured on Novelty Brides for the  LUXE Launch 2017 event. 

Wedspire was featured on EPN discussing Innovation in a Traditional Industry.
