Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”

This is a question that is at the core of every meaningful DEIB conversation. Inclusion isn’t an initiative at WIPA, it’s a practice in our industry. It shows up in the way we greet a couple who’s nervous about being fully themselves. It’s the way we welcome marginalized voices into our teams, our stages, and our opportunities. It’s the way we choose to learn, unlearn, and lead with empathy even when it’s uncomfortable or inconvenient.

At WIPA, our commitment to DEIB is an ongoing promise to create a space where all wedding pros and couples feel seen, valued, and safe. We challenge ourselves to design events and experiences that honor culture, identity, accessibility, and the fullness of every love story. Above all, we make sure that our chapters embody the joy, diversity, and dignity of the communities we serve.

Dr. King taught us that progress is a dream and a discipline. On this day of remembrance, may we carry the spirit of the courage he embodied by choosing a path that moves us closer to equity, empathy, and belonging. So, the question ‘What are we doing for others? Still matters. Especially in how we lead, collaborate and serve our communities.

Today, we honor him. Tomorrow, we continue the work.
