JUNE 12th IS LOVING DAY! β€οΈ
Celebrating our right to have legal interracial marriages!
June 12th is the anniversary of the day when interracial marriage finally became legal across the entire United States.π€π€π€π Previously marriage was forbidden for people of two different races.
This law was not passed until 1967!
The US Supreme Court decision- Loving v. Virginia which struck down all anti-miscegenation laws remaining in sixteen U.S. states. This was a precursor to decades later when on June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court made same-sex marriage legal across the United States. π³οΈβπ
Love is a human right and must be accessible to all! β¨
