CWIP Certification Program Moves to Certplace
In 2016 the Wedding Industry Professionals Association (WIPA) and TISOH (The International School of Hospitality) began a collaboration to implement a new certified wedding professional program. Effective immediately, the Certified Wedding Industry Professional (CWIP) certification will be managed solely by TISOH and Certplace. WIPA will no longer be affiliated with the program, and after seven years of involvement now feels that entrusting the management of the CWIP program and its content to Certplace, a company dedicated to certification management, is advisable in order to continue the development of the CWIP program.
TISOH, The International School of Hospitality, is a 19-year-old, accredited hospitality continuing education institution. Known for their comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to education, TISOH will continue its role in maintaining the academic management of the CWIP certification under contract with Certplace. TISOH conducted the wedding professional competency study with over 200 participants, that successfully outlined the standards, competencies, and skillsets required by wedding professionals, as a prelude to the development of CWIP.
WIPA wishes Certplace success in operating the CWIP certification. The certification will remain a continuing education resource for professionals in the wedding industry.
