As always, a big shout out to our members that have made the news. Below you’ll find members that have been highlighted or otherwise recognized. Thank you to those that submitted news this month and thank you to our members that continue to push the outside of the envelope in some way.

Brent Rolland is the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with the Chicago Chapter of WIPA. He is also a veteran DJ with Fig Media, an award-winning DJ, film, and photography firm. Brent recently won two industry awards within one week: Black In Events Network’s Top 100 in Events and the 2024 HOSPY Award, bestowed by CTC Destination Management, a DMC Network Company. Brent is honored to win these awards for his presence, connection, and work in the event industry, and gives thanks to God, family, friends, colleagues, and the WIPA community for these accolades. “This is a win not for me but for everyone.”

Tanya Pushkine aka The Vow Whisperer was featured in an article in Vogue Magazine. Tanya is the creator and producer of epic wedding ceremony experiences whereby she ensures that the 25-30 minutes of ceremonial time is filled with engaging, memorable, and vibrant content. From a couple’s personal vows to the actual ceremony, Tanya touches upon every moment with relentless care and devotion to the couples’ personalities, values, and beliefs.

Friar Tux shined all over the Wedding Chicks’ blog-o-sphere! First a boho-luxe elopement titled: Walking the Line Between Rustic and Refined in Joshua Tree, with the groom in a chic Black Notch Lapel Performance Tuxedo by Michael Kors for his ceremony, and then a swap of the coat to a Gold Velvet Shawl Lapel Tuxedo for a party-time reception look. Next, this Chic Newport Barn Wedding That’s Anything But Rustic where the color palette blended calming neutrals and bright bolds. The groom rocked a Red Notch Lapel Suit while the groomsmen kept it tonal and cool in Tan Notch Lapel Suits. And lastly, You’ll Want To Elope in Tuscany After Seeing This Picturesque Inspo and that is no joke! From the scenery to the styling, everything about this elopement just speaks to everyone’s wedding-loving souls. For this multi-day event the groom wore Friar Tux’s Light Blue Notch Lapel Suit as well as the Black Notch Lapel Suit.
