Changes To This Privacy Policy
The Wedding Industry Professionals Association has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. Our Commitment To DEI&B
Part of good Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity & Belonging (DEI&B) practice is to understand the communities that we aim to serve. As an association, WIPA has made great strides in terms of building awareness and promoting a stance in support of DEI&B in the wedding and events industry. However, to continue this work, we need to show deeper understanding of our membership. All of our initiatives, promotions, decisions and more in this space should be driven by data and information about our membership. This will ensure that we are serving the right communities in a way that best meets their needs as well as ensures that our focus is in the right place. We cannot properly serve communities that we do not understand, even at minimum within our membership.
By capturing information about the demographics and identities of our members, our Association is setting itself up to create meaningful and impactful initiatives and to do this work with greater understanding of our membership.
Being data-driven in this way holds us accountable as an association. Tracking this information across our membership allows us to understand our “starting point” and helps us set goals within our work and initiatives. This then keeps us “honest” about the impact that the work we are doing is having and can inform us on whether we need to pivot or “double-down” on our efforts.
